NÜ africa is a party created to bridge the gaps between the diaspora by uniting people USING sounds and movements embedded in our dna.
NÜ AFRICA was founded in Los Angeles by 3 women who were tired of the smoke and mirrors of the LA party scene.
We wanted to create an inclusive place where Black people of all backgrounds could connect, release and be free. Our first party ever was held on August 16, 2019 in the heart of Little Ethiopia at Ethiopix Lounge. Our highly curated line up of DJ’s included some of the best and brightest up and coming talents in the area. From there we held down the spot every Friday for 7 months straight until it closed its doors. We relocated to a warehouse space downtown and expanded our programming to include food, live performances and art. Unfortunately due to Covid we were forced to shut down operations as we knew it and rethink our strategy. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as repositioning our efforts into a digital platform has allowed us to reach around the globe and further our mission. We hope to create a nü vanguard that speaks both to the evolution of our culture as well as pays homage to the birthplace of it all, Mama Africa.
